Week 8: Gooch on cruise control

Gooch sees some eye-opening picks out east this week.  Both of these 2 ACC conference leaders should beat their brethern by 2 TDs each.  Get on these lines before they move past 7 points.

  1. Miami (-5)  at home against Clemson
  2. Georgia Tech (-6) against Virginia

Round Two Decided Early

College football handicapping has never been easier for the Gooch…

Unless the Gooch refuses to place picks in week 8 and forfeits the round, he is in the driver’s seat to win round two.  After another set of lackluster weeks from Blue and T Bone, they both stand at 2-4, while the Gooch is proudly atop a 5-1 record, making the three of them a 9-9 total for round 2.  T Bone thought he had a perfect round until that tip ball by Rojo enabled the Irish back in the game.  Unfortunately no computer can account for rusty hands.

T Bone will be further tweaking his well documented system that still has him winning 72.1% of his games this year.  The last three weeks have been below average, but expect him to come back in a furious last third of the year before we head into championship weeks and bowl games.  Which leads me to repeat the stated rules of the championship week and bowl games round…  It’s winner take all… Pick 10 games between from the conference championships and bowl games.  Also, you must pick the National Championships game as on of your games and include a predicted total score.  In the event there is a tie, the one closest to the total score wins.  We may let other handicappers from around the globe in on the final round to make it more interesting!

The computers are synched up

It tales 5 weeks to align the probability index correctly and this is the week we promise a 2-0 record. Goch is coming on strong, but afte a 2-0 record this week, The Bone will put the right amount of heat on Gooch and PuffyBlue.   This week has my system almost handing me money like an ATM.  Bet big.  Bet strong. Like you can’ go wrong.

Best Bet

This one is short and simple.  The soul of Stafon is once again going to bring the best out of Troy.  Let’s be honest, we haven’t sniffed USC yet this year.  Expect Jabba the Hut to lose his job this weekend.  Do you really believe that Rojo isn’t going to go off against another horrific ND secondary. Lights out this weekend.  ‘USC by 24.  Give up the 10 and chuckle.  Clausen, 4 national championships?  Really?

Most Intriguing

Vatech should crush an overrated G tech team.  But what makes this intriguing is the fact that VaTech has nobody else to play.  Do the Hokies come through in their last big test before a possible BCS Championship game?  I think they get past this game with ease.  Give the 4.  And be ready to hear the folks allover the country ask for the head of the BCS committee for letting in the Honkies into that game before USC, Ohio State, and others who would kill Beamer’s boys.

Too Good To Be True

Stanford is a horrible road team.  They always have been.  An underrated AZ team finally gets back home where they are 2-0.  This is a must win for the program and 4 points is just too low of a number.  I expected this to be a 9 point line and for some reason the linemakers love us this week.  Is this a gift or is it TGTBT?

Simply put, USC and AZ are sure things. 2-0 Gooch, whatcha going to do about that?

Week 7: Gooch is heating up

The Gooch computer is heating up with a 5-1 record over the last 3 weeks.    The computer uses a proprietary algorithm (the Black Box) that is a self-learning system that learns each week based on the games played.  The more games, the more data it has to pick winners.  Get in on this action because the computer’s coefficients are dialed in and the nectar is sweet.

  1. Cincinnati (-3) over South Florida
  2. Georgia (-7.5) over Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt is the Oakland Raiders of SEC.  Georgia should easily win by 2+ TDs.  In the Big East, this is the week Cincinnati pulls away from a weak Big East.  This game with Matt Grothe at QB is a game.  With a freshman QB under the Thursday night lights…Good luck son.

Late Release….

3-0 on the year with our Bonus picks, 2-1 last week.  The Bruins got plowed by Toby Gerhart up at the Farm last week; game wasn’t as close as the final score either.

As T-Bone told ya, it’s a new week, but there’s no tossing out any computers here.  We’re late with our picks because our servers were crunching late breaking stats and factoring in on-campus info on player psyches (lil late night partying maybe?) and mental make-ups.

Oregon Ducks migrate south to the Rose Bowl this week to face the battered Bruins.  Masoli has a wounded wing, so the Ducks will not be flying as high in the Pasadena heat.  I’ll be there firsthand to witness a return of the Prince.  That’s Kevin Prince – UCLA’s starting QB and anointed one.  Bruins starting tailback Christian Ramirez had a another week to recover and will be another arsenal in the Bruin attack.  Bruins Red Zone offense will not have to settle for field goals this week and will benefit from being dissed dogs at home today.  TAKE THE BRUINS +3.5

The missionaries at BYU have been completely written off after being scalped by the Seminoles.  Our system spit this anomaly out last night and posted the Cougs as 3 TD favorites.  Our in-team source confirmed that the players made curfew and did not fall to the temptations of the Strip.  This is a focused and angry team out to prove that they belong in the upper echelon.  Take the COUGS -17.

No Bonus Picks!  Just parlay the exacta.

It’s a new week…

After a miserable 0-2 week, I threw my computer across the room.  I went a HORRIFIC 4-4 on my week including the 0-2 here.  Only my 5th money losing week in the past two years.   I’m really sorry folks for wasting your money last week.  It won’t happen again.  I’m going to keep this week simple….

Best Bet

Iowa is the most curious team in the country.  Okay, so they beat Penn St in Happy Valley… but really.. who is Penn St?  They beat nobody this year, so that win can’t be counted as a major feat in my opinion.  Michigan on the other hand, has played tough and have been inconsistent in games – see last week.  But then again, I still have to think the nation’s bettors aren’t giving the richrod system enough respect.  Stanzi is error prone and has yet to prove he has improved.  Forcier on the other hand has been increasing his comfort in the pocket…. a good sign for Michigan.  Michigan will force errors and that’s where this game falls apart.  Iowa’ smash mouth defense will be tough, but expect Richrod to make adjustments and get the running game back in line.  Take Mich and the 8 points

Most Intriguing

Hands down, it’s Tenn and UGA.  Both teams have lackluster records after playing two of the most brutal schedules in the country.  While young Lane keeps applying his foot in his mouth, it’s his dad who is making this team one of the top 5 defenses in the country.  The Gators could only squeeze 115 yards in the air against Monte.  I will tell you this… he may just win defensive coach of the year and will surely deserve it.  And while Tenn had problems with Auburn’s running game, they held them to close to half their point average.  So will the offense finally catch up?  I wish Crompton would hide somewhere.  I feel like this is a must win for the Volunteers and I do think Crompton steps up in this game against a UGA team who hasn’t found it’s stride on the road yet.  BTW, have you seen the punter on UGA?  TN will be looking at 80 yard drives all day long.  Drew Butler is averaging 50 YPP… sick.

Give the 1 point and know that Monte has made Lane take out the trash all week as punishment for losing 3 of 5.

Too Good to be True

Oklahoma.  Give up 28 to Baylor.  Bradford’s back.  The line should be 36 or higher.  This is a blow out and Bradford will get extra reps throwing downfield.  Stoops needs the Sooners to crush a team to get them to make a desperate run at the Big 12.  This is about pride and I can’t see how Baylor even squeezes 14 points out this week – despite a surprisingly stout offense.  No brainer here.

My picks are Oki and Michigan.  Those are just too easy.

Joey The Gooch – Can’t Miss Week Six

Home sweet home for two teams coming off tough, down the wire losses on the road last week.  These two are can’t miss picks in the Big 10 and Pac 10 this weekend.

  1. Minnesota (-3) at home against Purdue
  2. Washington (+3.5) at home against Arizona

Washington at home is tough.  You don’t know how loud that stadium gets unless you’ve been there.  Washington covers the 3.5.  If you find a good moneyline, you might take your chances and bet that.  Washington wins outright.

Minnesota has played tough in all 5 games, including the 2 losses to Cal and Wisconsin.  They beat up on a bad Purdue Boilermaker team and win by 2 scores.

Round TWO begins and the Bone has got something to Pick,

Pick two winners that is.  This week is special.  Let me begin by saying the computers have never spit out such sure fire winners.  I have a two plays over 170 on my index.  You know what that means…. 5* picks are looming.  The system with plays over 170 index this year to date is 23-9.  Fantastic.  Yes, I am cranking on my private picks.  ou can find all of that on my other site Most of you know who we are, but those who don’t – we are all pro ‘cappers who are not allowed to divulge identities because we represent major ‘capping sites and they won’t allow our side game here to kill their business (and our pocket books).  These are free, but out picks go for as high as $500 per week on some of our syndicated networks.

Too Good to Be True

This one is super easy. Big easy.  Miami is completely overrated and despite the absence of Bradford, Sooner nation is looking at pretty darn good team. I told you last week Miami’s early season wins were going ot be discounted and after FSU and Miami’s losses, you now know I am right again.  But now let’s get back to whacky reasoning of TGTBT.  By all accounts, this should be a BLOW OUT for Oki.  But Miami is bad n the road against good opponents, but good at home – don’t count them out.  Plus, there is a tension around Norman with Bradford out.  If they can get to

Best Bet

Idaho is 3-1?  Say it ain’t so.  The Colorado St Rams won their annual Colorado battle kick off.  And while that win looks worse by the week, the Rams come into a Idaho’s Kibbie Dome with a “do or die” passion to right their season – something that has failed them early in past years.

This is game where Grant Stucker can standout.  He doesn’t have super talented receivers around him, he has deep threats and play makers in Greer and Morton.  These guys can go the distance in a big way. QBs have been throwing with tremendous accuracy against Idaho and I expect Stucker to stay composed and start connect with his short game early, leaving his play makers free to roam deep.  Expect big plays and points from Colorado St tomorrow.  ON the other side Enderle is prone to bad habits and bad throws, something Elija blue-Smith will be zoned in on.  Expect errant throws to fall safely in the hands changing the complexity of the game early.  After that Idaho, come down to Earth and the fans exit early. Give up 3.5 points.

Most Intriguing

This game has been reserved for USC – CAL all year long…. but this is better served by RichRod and company.  Well, this is the first interesting test for Michigan.  The Spartans have a talented team… one that could easily be 4-0 and ranked in the top 15 had they been able to finish games.  But isn’t that typically a season long problem for teams that don’t have the necessary leadership?  Also, MSU has played three horrible secondaries, inflating their passing game to gaudy stats.  Well, this is rivalry game and it will be close, so getting points is a GREAT thing!   RichRod steals this game.  You steal it by getting 3.5 points.

Picks for this week are Michigan and Colorado St.  Take ‘em to the bank!  Sorry folks, I had to save the 5* picks for my paid series, but these picks should get me by this week.

Pull off the covers….

It’s easy to mask weaknesses against pay-to-play foes, but come conference play, there’s no hiding from anyone.  For sure, the covers got pulled from the likes of Mississippi, Cal, Penn State and Miami in the opening week of conference action.

This week, a lot of folks are scratching their heads….but at NCAAExperts, we’re just simply scratchin’ the surface.  With 3-4 four games logged into our system, we’re dialed in and ready to ride the weekly conference matchups down easy street.

First it was UCLA vs. Tennessee, then ASU vs. Georgia, and now, we have Washington vs. Notre Dame.  The nation continues to dis the PAC-10 and this week, it’s more than evident with overrated Notre Dame giving -12.5 to the visiting Huskies.  How much disrespect?  Well, there’s so much lack of interest that Notre Dame nearly lost it’s sell-out streak that dates back 36 years to 1973.  Everyone’s asking whether UW is for real…the team that gave LSU all it could handle and shocked USC or the team that laid an egg against the studious Stanford Cardinal?  Well folks, Jake Locker will show the nation who the best QB is on the field as he outplays Clausen and carries the PAC-10 honor torch this week in South Bend.  Take UW +12.5 vs. ND

Will the real slim shady please stand up?   What kind of teams are UCLA and Stanford?  Anyone that told you UCLA would be the only remaining undefeated team in the PAC-10 at this point in the season is someone that came back from the future.  Stanford, ridin on the thundering thighs of Toby Gerhardt, had no business giving up a 17-3 lead to Wake Forest, and should rightfully be 4-0 as the Bruins come roaring into town this week.  Coming off an impressive whuppin of the still celebrating Huskies, Stanford will fall prey to self-adulation and get whacked by a team with a serious chip on its shoulders in UCLA.  Those guys are young and have a lot to prove despite their 3-0 record.  The spread reflects the overall lack of confidence in back-up QB Kevin Craft, but the kid will shine after gaining great confidence against K-State, not to mention an extra week to prepare under the tutelage of Norm Chow.  Take UCLA +5.5 at Stanford

BONUS: Cal’s disturbing loss to Oregon last week kept the GameDay crew away from Tightwad Hill this weekend, but don’t let that discourage you from tuning in and watching Barkley tear up Berkeley on Saturday.  ’SC will continue to open up its playbook and the nation will finally get to see what all the hype is about in this impressive young kid.  He will hoist the Heisman for the Trojans before he stars on Sunday.  Cal will learn that rug burns are slow to heal and after getting dragged all over the Autzen Stadium turf last week, they will continue to feel the burn this weekend.
